TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (MNA) – Norway, Australia and Tajikistan will screen Shahram Mokri’s feature film Fish & Cat at their international film festivals this October/November.

The Oslo Film Festival will host Shahram Mokri’s feature film Fish & Cat at its 24th edition as one of its 15 main film titles. The Oslo International Film Festival which is Norway’s most important festival shows independent, non-mainstream films on November each year.

The fourth edition of Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA) 2014 will close the festival with showcasing Fish & Cat which is described as a single take horror film with no violence.

This year the IFFA emphasis is on young cinema with many first- and second-time directors.

Didor International Film Festival in Tajikistan will also screen Fish & Cat. During its 6th edition, it will also showcase Iranian Ninja directed by Marjan Riahi.

Didor International Film Festival is Tajikistan's top film festival. It will run from October 16-20 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Fish & Cat recounts the story of a number of students who have travelled to the Caspian region in order to participate in a kite-flying event during the winter solstice. Next to their camp is a small hut occupied by three cooks who work at a nearby restaurant. The cooks are looking for some meat to cook and there is no one around other than the young students. The film is based on a true story about a restaurant that served minced human flesh for food. An innovative and technically impressive film, shot in a single take and a new way to approach time and space in storytelling.

Fish & Cat has been previously premiered at Venice Film Festival 2013, and won awards at 28th Fribourg International Film Festival; shortlisted for APSA awards in 2013; special jury award 8th Iranian Film Critics and Screenwriters Guild Celebration 2014.

Mokri’s feature film was also the winner of the Special Orizzonti Award for Innovative Content at Venice Film Festival, inner of Best Film at the Dubai International Film Festival, and Winner of Best Film at the Lisbon and Estoril Film Festival.
