Homayoun Shajarian, son of Iranian famous singer Mohammad Reza Shajarian, who was speaking in the press conference of his new musical album Che Atashha (Persian for ‘What Fires’) along with Ali Qamsari in Delavaz Cultural and Artistic Institute on Saturday, made the proposal to perform in street live events.
Shajarian who is the singer of the album told that according to their estimations, the album found mixed reaction, with criticism by many and praise by others. “Since then, we decided to produce an album of street live performance, and hoped that it satisfied the audience,” he added.
‘I prefer production and distribution of live performance’
Shajarian also said that he preferred always to produce an album of street live events, since he believed that it communicated the mood and the atmosphere of the event experienced by the audience and the performer compared to studio recording, and that “with ignoring the minor errors, it would prove an effective approach to Iranian music.”
He pointed to a 2-year delay in production of the album after the concert performance. “Some technical issues delayed the album’s coming to the market. I insisted that the album be produced as a live performance, which entailed much technical work to solve some problems in recording, and the process of getting the necessary Ministry of Culture permits also contribute to the delay further,” Shajarian said.
“For years, I have been making requests to be granted a live street performance open to the public, and I still have some hopes that the House of Music finds such opportunity, and I will perform live for the public,” Shajarian asserted.
