Russia’s first Olympiad of Persian language and literature to open tomorrow

TEHRAN, Oct. 5 (MNA) -- The Russian Federation’s first Persian language and literature Olympiad opens tomorrow at the Asia-Africa Institute of Moscow University.

The Olympiad is being sponsored by the cultural attaché of the Islamic Republic in Russia and Moscow University.

 

Upgrading the level of Persian language and literature in higher education centers in Russia and some other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) republics and  determining the quality of Persian language and literature courses and students’ preparedness are some of the objectives of the two-day competition.

 

Over 100 university students from Russia and several other CIS republics will be participating in the Olympiad.

 

The competition will have sections on Persian literature, colloquial Persian, translation, and reading. Awards will be presented to the winners.

 

The top students will also be accepted to study at Iranian universities.
