Mohebian predicted that the Second Khordad Front (named after landslide presidential victory on May 22, 1997) would lose the elections if the critics of the government keep their vigilance.
Commenting on the fateful consequences of presidential elections, Mohebbian added that people would attach great importance to presidential elections because they consider the executive branch to be the most efficacious body for alleviating the people's economic problems.
Noting that the prevalent international condition are not in Iran’s favor the secretary of the Muslim Journalists Federation’s Political Committee said the future president should be able to cope with international pressures and manage the local problems arising otherwise the public would suffer which in turn bring about dissatisfaction.
Putting emphasis on people's massive turnout in the forthcoming elections, he said massive participation would indicate that the system has not faced a crisis in term of people’s support.
Society of the Islamic Revolution Loyalists to Run for Presidential Elections
We would take part in the forthcoming presidential elections actively, said former presidential candidate Hassan Ghafuri-Fard on Wednesday.
However, Ghafuri-Fard said, it is not yet clear whether the Society of the Islamic Revolution Loyalists would run up for the elections independently or do a coalition with the Coordination Council of Revolutionary Groups.
We have launched our activities for the presidential elections subsequent to the 7th Majlis elections, ISNA quoted the Secretary General of the Society of Islamic Revolution Loyalists as saying.
Noting that the society's elections headquarters have already been formed he added that joining the Coordination Council of Revolutionary Groups is on the agenda of the society.
