Iran Exhibition of Culture, Art and Civilization to Open in Australia

Mohammad Kargar, the curator of National Iranian Museum, who recently had an official visit to Australia, said that during his two-week stay, he had visited 30 museums and held talks with 45 cultural officials to expand cultural ties between the two countries.

Kargar said the suggestion to open this exhibition in Australia is one of the outcomes of his trip to this country.

Kargar said that Australian cultural officials are interested to introduce the cultures of other countries to their people by opening exhibitions in various fields.

Commenting on the rich Iranian culture and ancient historical background, he said Australia is a young country, its people long to be familiar with different aspects of cultural, social, economic and scientific of ancient nations, and they had held exhibition from countries like China and Egypt.

On the date of the exhibition, Kargar said undoubtedly, “Opening such exhibitions requires study and planning. We should know which era and historical tools should be on display and then preliminary issues must be preplanned.”

He said the exhibition would be surely held, but the exact date was not clear yet. The exhibition would be held in other cities of Australia, according to Kargar.

He said other cultural groups such as films, theatre and performing national Iranian music on the sidelines of the museum are among the requests of Australian cultural authorities.

Australians expressed optimum interest that the exhibition would include all aspects of Iranian culture.
