NATO cultural presence in Afghanistan destructive: diplomat

TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) - The director of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Department for Afghan Affairs, says the “cultural presence” of NATO in Afghanistan is not less destructive than its military presence in the country as NATO is seeking to undermine the Islamic and national identity of the Afghan people.

Mohsen Pak-Aeen says ‘cultural NATO’ is somehow complementary to ‘military NATO’.

Undermining Muslim nations’ cultural identity under the name of promoting civil society is part of the “Western plot”, Pak-Aeen noted.

The West is pursuing cultural metamorphosis in Muslim countries through promoting “silent and soft” political changes, Pak-Aeen told the Mehr News Agency.
