Intl’ Groups Collaborate on Documenting Iran’s Historical Sites

TEHRAN Jan. 24 (Mehr News Agency) –- Several international groups are collaborating on documenting all the Iranian historical sites using the state-of-the-art technology.

The Secretary of the project at the Cultural Heritage Organization said the first group from Austria, are preparing a geophysics map of the Shadiyakh historical site in Neyshabur, Khorasan Province.

 

Using laser scanners, a three dimensional map of each region has been prepared, added Mohammad-Hasan Khademzadeh. He further noted that the project would help further research work and excavations of historical regions in the country.

 

A total of 52 archaeological bases are presently operating in the country, and five more are to be added.
