“Da” is a turning point in Sacred Defense literature: Bonyanian

TEHRAN, Feb. 8 (MNA) -- “Da” is a turning point in Sacred Defense literature distinguishable by the truthfulness of the author, the head of Art Bureau Hassan Bonyanian told Mehr News Agency.

The book, written by Seyyedeh Azam Hosseini, contains recollections by Seyyedeh Zahra Hosseini of when the Iraqi army captured Khorramshahr in the early days of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

The book is a true life story of a teenager who experienced the early days of the war in Khorramshahr. The memoirs were penned by a capable author and this makes the book interesting for readers, he said.

“Da” changed the world view of readers. It mirrors the calamities of the Iranian people during the war and she decided to express them for the younger generation of Iranians who may overlook the dedication of their fellow countrymen in those years, he added.

“Previously, we introduced books on Sacred Defense just to war veterans but we decided to introduce “Da” to others including artists, cineastes and scholars and that lead to a good result,” he mentioned.

The book, released recently by Sureh-Mehr publications, is one of the publisher’s bestsellers.

In the dialect of Khorramshahr “da” means “mother”.
