Iranian, Saudi FMs hold phone call on regional developments

TEHRAN, Apr. 09 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan held a telephone conversation on Thursday to discuss the latest developments in the region.

During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on the bilateral ties, the latest regional developments and the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

Talking about the latest developments in the region after the ceasefire was announced, Araghchi emphasized Iran's responsible approach, stating, “Unfortunately, the American side twice committed military aggression against Iran in the middle of the nuclear negotiations process, and this time, diplomacy and negotiations have not yet taken place, and it is acting contrary to its commitments."

The foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, for his part, emphasized his country's support for the ceasefire agreement and ongoing efforts to restore stability and security to the region.

Bin Farhan expressed hope that the current ceasefire will pave the way for a complete end to the war and return of security and stability to the region.
