He told his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot in a telephone conversation late on Monday, emphasizing, “If the US's threats to attack Iran's infrastructure are done, it [US] will undoubtedly face a decisive and remorseful response from the powerful Armed Forces of the country.”
During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on the latest regional and international developments related to the war imposed by the US and Israel against Iran.
Referring to the US threats to attack Iran's infrastructures, Araghchi emphasized this threat is tantamount to normalizing war crimes and genocide, and if US threat of attacking Iran’s infrastructures is put into practice, it will undoubtedly face a decisive and all-out response from the Armed Forces of Iran."
The consequences of such a situation will not be limited to Iran and the region, but will have destructive effects on the world's energy and economy to a great extent, he said, adding, “The responsibility of attacking Iran’s infrastructures will solely lie with the American officials and the aggressors."
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, for his part, emphasized the need to end war, stating that the US threats of attacking Iran’s infrastructures will increase tension in the region.
He stressed the need to resolve issues through diplomacy.
The Iranian and French foreign ministers also exchanged their views on the consular issues between the two countries.
