During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on bilateral ties, issues of mutual interest, the latest developments in the region and the dire consequences of the ongoing US and Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
Emphasizing Iran's commitment to maintaining and promoting friendly relations with the regional countries, including Qatar, Iran’s top diplomat stated that the current situation in the region is the result of military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, as well as misuse of its military bases and assets in regional countries to carry out military aggression against Iran.
Referring to the international legal obligation of all governments to prevent other countries from using their territory to militarily invade other countries, Araghchi expressed hope that countries of the region will move towards collective and endogenous peace and security.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian foreign minister shed lights on the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Iranian nation, emphasizing Iran's firm determination to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The heinous war crimes committed by the United States and Israel against Iran, especially the attacks on schools, universities, hospitals, industrial and production infrastructures, and nuclear facilities, he noted that perpetrators of the war of aggression must be tried and punished in domestic and international courts.
The deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar referred to his country's principled stance in rejecting the use of force and respecting Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the need for an immediate end to the war and return of stability and security to the region.
