IRGC says US op. to retrieve pilot failed, aircraft destroyed

TEHRAN, Apr. 05 (MNA) – The IRGC said in a statement on Sunday that the US President Donald Trump lied about rescuing a downed aircraft pilot, adding that the US forces suffered heavy losses and were defeated.

The IRGC Public Relations Department in a statement on Sunday “In order to cover up his heavy defeat, Trump had claimed in a tweet a special operation to rescue the pilot of the plane that had been downed in Iran. Trump the gambler, the god of the Tabas sands is still there.”
Tabas sands is a reference to the failed US Eagle Claw Operation back in April 1980, where the US commandos sought to release the US Embassy staff held in Tehran but suffered from a humiliating defeat in Tabas Desert in northeast Iran due to a sand storm.
The IRGC Public Relations Department further explained “Following the desperate actions of the American enemy to rescue the downed fighter jet crew member and the entry of enemy aircraft into central Iran, during a joint operation consisting of Air Force, Ground Force, Popular Voluntary Basij Forces and Law Enforcement), the enemy’s aircraft were destroyed and America once again suffered a humiliating defeat like the Tabas operation.”
The statement also emphasized, “In order to cover up his heavy defeat, Trump had claimed in a post a special operation to rescue the pilot of the plane that crashed in Iran. Trump the gambler, the God of the Tabas sand particles is still there.”
