During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on the bilateral relations, the latest developments of war, especially the economic consequences of the US-Israeli war imposed against Iran.
Araghchi briefed his Malaysian counterpart on the heinous crimes committed by the US and Israeli aggressors against the innocent people of the country, especially attacks on schools, hospitals, and residential areas, emphasizing the determination of the country for firmly defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Iran will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity with utmost power and strength, Araghchi underlined.
Iran is committed to continuing friendly relations based on good neighborliness with all countries in the region, but the use of US and Israel from the military bases and facilities deployed at the regional countries to attack Iran has left Iran no choice but to resort to the defensive measures within the framework of its inherent right of self-defense, Iran’s top diplomat added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Araghchi referred to the consequences of the military aggression of the US and the Zionist regime against economy, security and stability of the region, and maritime safety in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the insecurity imposed on the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime, so that Islamic Republic of Iran has adopted a series of measures within the framework of the international law to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The foreign minister of Malaysia, for his part, stressed Malaysia's principled position in condemning the aggressive act against Iran, stressed the need to work to reduce tension and restore stability and security to the region.
