The joint energy working group of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation was held online last Wednesday, co-chaired by Seyed Ali-Mohammad Mousavi, Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Commerce, and Roman Marshavin, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in bilateral energy cooperation, with participants assessing progress across various joint initiatives.
The main focus of the discussions was the review, consolidation, and follow-up of existing memorandums of understanding between the two countries within the framework of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, alongside an evaluation of their implementation progress across different energy fields.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed steps already taken and exchanged views on the technical, operational, and scheduling aspects of joint projects. They stressed the need for closer coordination among relevant executive bodies and companies to accelerate the implementation of agreements.
Potential obstacles to the execution of the memorandums and possible solutions within the framework of bilateral cooperation were also discussed.
