Iranian student inventors shine at Intl. science competition

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – Iranian student inventors captured global attention at the 2025 Indonesia International Science and Invention Competition, securing three gold medals and a special award.

The 2025 Indonesia International Science and Invention Competition, held from November 12 to 15, drew more than 800 teams from 24 countries. Iranian student teams stood out with three gold medals and a special award, competing alongside leading scientific nations.

Mehdi Rashidi-Jahan, head of Iran’s student science teams, praised the students’ remarkable achievements. “Over 800 teams from 24 countries competed in this year’s event. Our student inventors earned three gold medals, marking a rare honor and placing Iran among the top global leaders in science and technology,” he said.

The competition featured participants from the United States, China, South Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada, Luxembourg, Turkey, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Iran’s teams competed in biotechnology, technology and artificial intelligence education, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, and nanotechnology, achieving top honors alongside major scientific powers.

Rashidi-Jahan announced the medal winners: Raman Nafarieh earned a gold medal and a special award in biotechnology. The engineering team, consisting of Radin Abbasi and Sam Rashidi, won a gold medal, while Matin Hayati received a gold medal in technology and artificial intelligence, distinguishing himself among the field’s best.
