Foreigners must not interfere in West Asia affairs
TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (MNA) – Iranian and Chinese Foreign Ministers emphasized that West Asia belongs to the people of this region and should not become the scene of destructive interventions by actors outside the region.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met and held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during his visit to Beijing.
In this meeting, the Iranian and Chinese diplomats discussed the latest state of relations in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, and transportation, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive cooperation program of the two countries.
The parties also discussed and exchanged views on the latest security and political developments in the West Asian region.
They emphasized that the Middle East belongs to the people of this region and should not become the scene of destructive interventions by actors outside the region in order to advance their geopolitical goals and ambitions.
Regarding the latest developments in Syria; they emphasized the necessity of preserving the national unity and territorial integrity of Syria and a peaceful and safe transition to a government that would be the provider of all spectrums and strata of the Syrian society.
The Islamic Republic of Iran does not give up any efforts to exploit the many capacities of joint interaction with China, Araghchi said, adding that Iran considers the 25-year plan as a solid basis for the development of relations in various fields.
Araghchi said that the relations between Iran and China are rooted in the ancient civilizations of the two countries.
With respect to the global and regional challenges, cooperation and consultation between Iran and China is necessary, Araghchi noted.
Araghchi, has embarked on a visit to China on Friday to follow up the strategic cooperation agreement between the two countries.
The two countries have strengthened political trust and cooperation by implementing a 25-year comprehensive cooperation plan, which has reinforced mutual solidarity across various domains.
This partnership, Araghchi said, is based on a solid foundation and covers a wide range of areas.
Iran and China, according to Araghchi, share common interests not only in bilateral and regional matters but also on the international stage.
Both nations are firmly committed to multilateralism and the benefits of collective cooperation in pursuit of global prosperity.
They continue to work closely in multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS.
