MP Defends GC Rejecting Localized Parliamentary Elections

TEHRAN —- The Guardian Council's objections to contradictions of the Majlis plan on localized parliamentary elections with the Constitution and the sharia criteria are “acceptable” and “logical”, Hamadan MP Hamidreza Hajbabaei said on Saturday.

"The public opinion had already rejected the plan," he told the Mehr News Agency.

"Under the current situation, presenting the plan was against the national solidarity and unity," added the lawmaker who is also the member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy committee.
