Israel’s assassination of Haniyeh will not remain unanswered

TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says that Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran would not remain unanswered.

In his meeting with the senior managers of American media outlets, President Pezeshkian stated that Iran’s viewpoint regarding the region and the world is transparent and crystal clear.

Unity, amity and cohesion was the slogan when “I ran for the presidency in Iran Presidential Election,” he emphasized.

"We must establish unity and amity inside the country and establish constructive interaction with outside world,” he said, adding that forging interaction with the neighboring and regional countries should first be prioritized in the new administration.

"Instead of bloodshed, war, and killing, we must create a world where all people can live comfortably regardless of their color, race, ethnicity, and place of origin", the Iranian president said.

Asked about Iran’s response to Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas, in Tehran in late July, Pezeshkian said the move, which is condemned based on all international rules, will not remain unanswered, PressTV reported.

He noted that Iran has proved it is capable of giving a proper response to the crimes of Israel but the country does not seek to spread instability and insecurity in the region.

The Iranian president once again reiterated his administration’s policy of expanding interaction with world countries based on mutual respect.

He said Iran seeks “constructive, healthy and equal” interaction with all world countries.

He criticized certain Western media outlets for portraying a tarnished image of Iran and said he would convey his country’s message of peace and friendship to the world during the General Assembly meeting.

Pezeshkian also rejected allegations about Iran’s supplying of weapons to Russia to be used in the war in Ukraine.
