Iran condemns assassination of senior Hezbollah commander

TEHRAN, Jan. 08 (MNA) – The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman on Monday strongly condemned the martyring of senior Hezbollah commander Wissam al Tawil by a Zionist Israeli regime's drone attack.

In a statement on Monday night, Nasser Kan'ani considered the Zionist Israeli regime's resorting to atrocious terrorist operations as a clear sign of weakness and helplessness of the regime and the painful blows it has received against the Resistance groups on the battlefield such as including in the Gaza Strip.

"Such acts of evil will never be able to make up for the irreparable failure of the regime in the Al-Aqsa Storm operation and its three months of war-mongering against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank," the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman further said.

Senior Hezbollah commander Wissam Hassan al-Tawil was killed when the strike hit the vehicle transporting him in the village of Khirbet Selm on Monday.

The commander served with Hezbollah’s elite Radwan ground force.
