Iran’s crude output grows by 60% in two years: NIOC chief

TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (MNA) – The chief executive of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said that the country’s production of crude oil in the administration of President Ebrahim Raeisi registered a 60 percent hike.

Mohsen Khojastehmehr stated that according to the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the oil and gas sectors have the lion’s share in the economic growth of the country.

He added that the country’s oil production increased by 60 percent in the past two years.

Speaking at the 2nd Conference and Exhibition of Technology Management and Increasing Knowledge-Based Production in the Value Chain of the Petroleum Industry, the deputy oil minister emphasized that the country’s oil production hike is indebted to the measures taken in the current administration, IRNA reported.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Khojastehmehr pointed to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies in the oil industry and noted that the company is seeking to increase oil production from its oil tanks using advanced AI.

Turning to the signing of an agreement with the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology for the establishment of an Oil and Gas Digital Tanks Solution Center, the NIOC chief stated that his company intends to run 15 oil and gas fields using artificial intelligence.
