Iranian foreign minister to visit Turkey to discuss Gaza

TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will visit Turkey on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will meet Amir-Abdollahian, and the two will discuss the situation in Palestine as well as current regional developments and bilateral relations, the ministry added.

The top Iranian diplomat visited Qatar for a second time in over the past weeks where he held with high-ranking Qatari officials as well as Hamas Ismail Hamniya on Tuesday.

The Israeli army has expanded its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since the surprise attack by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance movement Hamas on Oct. 7.

More than 10,000 people have been killed in the conflict since then, including 8,525 Palestinians and more than 1,538 Zionist regime's soldiers and settlers.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected growing calls for a cease-fire.

An Israeli blockade of the strip has also cut Gaza off from fuel, electricity, and water supplies, and reduced aid deliveries are unable to satisfy the needs of the over 2 million Palestinians there.
