UNICEF: Nearly 3 million children displaced in Sudan

TEHRAN, Oct. 30 (MNA) – The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced that approximately 3 million children are displaced in Sudan, news media reported.

In the statement made on the X social media platform of UNICEF Sudan Office, it was stated that approximately 3 million children were displaced due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, and this is the highest number in the world.

The statement noted that the further escalation of the war caused more children to leave their homes, facing the risk of violence, abuse and exploitation, and added: "The war must be stopped so that children can be safe and healthy, learn and play." The expression was used.

Clashes broke out between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (HDK) in the East African country Sudan on April 15.

According to the Sudanese Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), in the conflicts that started on April 15 and continued with all their violence, approximately 10 thousand people lost their lives, 25 million Sudanese became in need of humanitarian aid and 5.4 million people had to leave their homes.

Regional and international ceasefire and negotiation attempts have so far failed due to mutual accusations of violations by the warring sides and agreement on the terms put forward.
