Iran, Malaysia to promote scientific cooperation

TEHRAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – The Islamic Republic and Malaysia have called for expanding mutual ties in the field of science, particularly teaching Persian and Malay.

Iranian Science, Research, and Technology Minister Mohammad Zolfi-Gol made the remarks on Monday in a meeting with Mohamed Khalid Nuruddin, Malaysian minister of higher education at the D-8 International University in Hamedan in the west of Iran.

Iran is prepared to set up a course for Persian teaching, he said, adding that the country is also ready to host teaching Malay.

Both countries enjoy a constructive relationship in various areas, the minister said, stressing the need for boosting bilateral cooperation in the sphere of science.

He called for holding expos in the two countries to showcase the latest achievements of the two nations in technology.

Mohamed Khalid Nuruddin, Malaysian minister of higher education, for his part, said that the mutual cooperation of the Iranian and Malaysian universities should help resolve the regional challenges such as those that are related to the climate.
