On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the member states of the Group of 77 (G77) discussed the development cooperation and the priorities and strategy of this group.
Mohammad Sadegh Fazli, Assistant Foreign Minister of Iran attended the meeting, explaining the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Group of 77.
While highlighting the necessity of strengthening multilateralism and unity among the members, Fazli stated his opposition to unilateralism and unilateral coercion.
At the end of his speech, he emphasized the necessity of reducing and eradicating poverty, adding that it is important to change the international conditions by stopping unilateral coercive measures against developing countries.
The meeting of the member states of the Group of 77 with the participation of ministers and high-ranking officials of 134 countries is held annually on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Group of 77 (G77) at the United Nations (UN) is a coalition of 135 developing countries, designed to promote its members' collective economic interests and create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity in the United Nations.
