Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.
The Russian official and Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri met in Tehran today.
Expanding defense diplomacy, enhancing mutual cooperation, countering common threats and international terrorism were announced to be among the main topics of the meeting.
Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Shoigu was officially welcomed by Major General Bagheri and scheduled to meet other top Iranian officials.
