Iran finishes fourth at world wushu meet

TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (MNA) – Iran stood fourth at the first world youth wushu tournament in Malaysia Friday.

 

The fourth title came as the country won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in san shou competitions.

 

China lifted the trophy with an asset of six golds and one silver while Vietnam finished runner-up with three golds, two silvers, and one bronze and Russia winning two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes ranked third.

 

Iran’s sole gold was taken by Hamidreza Qolipur, who overcame Mamadov from Turkmenistan in the -80kg final.

 

In the -75kg, Mohammad Aeini from Iran snatched the silver after conceding a loss to the Russian finalist.

 

Ehsan Khosravi and Ali Dehqan handed Iran two bronze medals as they stood third in the -70 and -65kg classes.

 

In talo event, Iran bagged three bronzes.
