4.2-Richter quake jolts Iran-Iraq border

TEHRAN, Sep. 28 (MNA) – An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale has hit the Iran-Iraq border near Qasr-e Shirin City in Kermanshah province.

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 12:28:25 hours local time and at the depth of 10 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 45.448 degrees longitude and 34.593 degrees latitude.

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
