Speaking to Mehr News Agency, Alireza Tajernia, a spokesman with Mehr-Alizadeh's campaign, confirmed that the candidate has withdrawn his bid.
He said a statement has been sent to the Interior Ministry and the official announcement will come in hours.
The 2021 presidential election will be held on Friday.
