Ahmadinejad to visit Indonesia Tuesday

TEHRAN, May 7, (MNA) – President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is set to visit Indonesia on Tuesday at the invitation of his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Sunday.

During the visit Ahmadinejad will discuss with Indonesian officials bilateral political, economic and cultural ties, Asefi said, adding that the president is also due to attend a D8 meeting in Bali.

 

Ahmadinejad is among four foreign leaders who are due to attend a two-day summit of the Developing-8 (D8) group of large Muslim countries which opens in the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Friday.

 

Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki is also due to visit Bahrain on Monday, Asefi said.

 

Mutual relations and important regional issues particularly the issues of Palestine and Iraq will be discussed in Mottaki’s trip to Bahrain, he told reporters.
