Iran FM meets with Afghan president in Geneva

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tue. held talks with the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani in the Swiss city of Geneva on the sidelines of a UN-backed international conference on Afghanistan.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is in Geneva to attend a ministerial conference on Afghanistan, co-chaired by the Afghan Government and the UN, met and talked with President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday to discuss bilateral issues and the Afghanistan peace process.

The latest developments in Afghanistan and its government's plans to advance the peace process, issues related to bilateral relations, including the progress of the work of the joint technical committees of the two countries, issues relating to water management, security cooperation in the fight against terrorism and insecurity were the focus of the meeting between Zarif and Ashraf Ghani.
