Iran’s rep. advances to semifinal of Asian Club Volleyball C’ships

TEHRAN, Aug. 04 (MNA) – The Iranian volleyball club, Khatam Ardakan, won Thailand’s representative in the quarterfinal and earned the ticket to the semifinal of 2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.

Iranian squad faced Thailand’s Nakhonratchasima The Mall on Saturday and gained a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-17) victory.

2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship kicked off on July 31 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar and will wrap up on August 6.

Khatam Ardakan was in Pool A of the competition along with Japan’s Toray Arrows, and Kazakhstan’s Atyrau VC. The Iranian team managed to win both mentioned teams and advance to the quarterfinals. The next rival of Khatam Ardakan is yet to be determined.

Iranian clubs have so far snatched 9 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals during last 16 editions of the event.
