Iran says Omani FM's imminent visit to Tehran 'not true'

TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi on Tue. dismissed rumors about the imminent visit of Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi to Tehran.

“Some media outlets have spread news about the imminent visit of Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi to Tehran, which is not true,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the Spokesman of Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.

Ghasemi reassured that there has been no formal contact between Iran and Oman through official and diplomatic channels to coordinate and arrange the necessary ceremonial procedures of such a diplomatic visit.

“This is a fake news based on no verifiable fact,” he stressed.

“Considering the friendly ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman, it is quite normal for the officials of the two countries to meet regularly, continuously and at necessary times and the news about such meetings have always been disclosed to the public in due time,” Ghasemi asserted.
