Iran, Indonesia ink MoU to boost coop. in empowering women

TEHRAN, Jul. 30 (MNA) – Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs and Indonesian Ministry of Women’s Empowerment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to broaden cooperation in the field of empowering women.

The MoU was inked between Iranian Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar and Indonesian Minister of Women’s Empowerment Johnna Susana Yam Baysa in order to enhance and develop cooperation in the field of empowering women, protecting children according to the equality, mutual respect.

In general, the MoU was signed and sealed in nine paragraphs with the aim of expanding and developing cooperation in the field of empowering women and protecting children.

Expanding and developing participatory role of women in trade and development of technology, strengthening and empowering women economically and exchanging information and technical know have been cited as the other objectives of this cooperation agreement.

This MoU will be enforceable for two years and is extendible for the same period.

Presently, women account for half of 80-million population in the country.
