According to Deputy Minister of Health and Director General of Department of Medical Equipment, Reza Masaeli, there are over 280,000 items of medical equipment developed in Iran, and the rate of production of medical equipment in the country has had a nine percent growth in recent years.
At the moment, 105 medical items developed by 23 Iranian companies are exported to 55 countries, including Russia, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Croatia, he added.
Masaeli then pointed to the signing of agreements for the export of Iranian medical equipment to various countries such as Brazil, Iraq and Oman, adding “the Department of Medical Equipment at the Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with the Trade Promotion Organization to facilitate the participation of Iranian producers of medical equipment at Germany’s Medica trade fair, Oman Health Exhibition, UAE’s Arab Health and the international exhibition in Brazil.”
He maintained that the Ministry of Health is aiming for a tenfold increase in exports from $24 million to $240 million this year.
