‘Golnesa’ to vie for Golden Dhow at ZIFF 2018

TEHRAN, Jul. 08 (MNA) – Iranian movie ‘Golnesa’ directed by Sattar Chamani-Gol will go on screen at 21st Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF 2018), to be held on July 7-15 in , Stone town, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

‘Golnesa’ will compete for Golden Dhow award with different movies from around the world.

The story is about Golmammad and ‘Golnesa’, a young Afghan couple, who are illegal immigrants and are working in a traditional brick making kiln. Following the events happening to them, their lives undergo changes. 

Saeed Dakh, Saqi Zinati, Yeganeh Rajabi, Ali Mohammad Radmanesh and Masoud Mohammadi are in the cast.

Sattar Chamani-Gol was born in 1979, Kurdistan province in Iran and has directed 8 shorts fictions, 19 documentaries and 4 series. ‘Golnesa’ is his first feature film. 

The Zanzibar International Film Festival is one of the largest multi-disciplinary art and cultural festival in Africa dedicated to films, music and different form of art. Each year ZIFF exhibits films from Africa, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, USA and Asia.
