Iran basketball slides down one place in world rankings

TEHRAN, Jul. 07 (MNA) – The national Iranian men’s basketball team has ranked 25th in the latest edition of Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA) rankings.

According to the latest rankings released by the world's basketball governing body after the end of the 2018 FIBA third window, the national Iranian men’s basketball team stood in the 25th place with 294.3 points and after Australia ranked 2nd in Asia and Oceania region.

The previous positions of the first to sixteenth teams have not changed, and the national teams of the US, Spain and France continue to rank first to third in the world.

In Asia and Oceania, China has ranked the 29th in the world, indicating the fact that Iran is atop Asian teams.

Guinea climbed 17 place to stand at the 95th place, while Libya and Mauritania slid down 13 place and ranked 157th and 158th in the world, indicating the sharpest decline in the world rankings.
