Trade volume between Iran, Europe reaches 22b euros in 2017

TEHRAN, Jun. 26 (MNA) – The volume of trade between Iran and the European Union has grown significantly in recent years, reaching 22 billion in 2017, according to Iran’s Chamber of Commerce official.

Vice President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Pedram Soltani said on Tuesday that the volume of trade between Iran and the EU has increased dramatically while the figure stood at 14 billion euros in 2013.

Soltani said that many European countries have decided to open an office in Iran to develop relations with Iranian companies.

Meanwhile, he said that the US’s unilateral withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal is expected to affect the EU-Iran bilateral trade relations.

The Iranian economic official further pointed out that the next week's visit to the Switzerland and Austria by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani accompanied by a economic delegation comprised of Iranian private companies shows the determination of Iran and the EU to expand their relations.
