Iran’s defense min. lands in Baghdad for 2-day visit

TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami has arrived in Iraqi capital Baghdad for a two-day visit to increase military-security cooperation between Iran and Iraq.

Upon his arrival at Baghdad International Airport this morning, the Iranian defense minister was greeted by General Muhammad Jawad Khadum Al-Abadi, Secretary General of Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

The Iranian defense minister said at the airport he was visiting Iraq with the aim of expanding military-security cooperation between the two countries and exchanging views on the latest developments in the region, including the recent attack on Syria with Iraqi officials.

He also congratulated the Iraqi people and government on the victory over terrorism.
