Zarif to embark on 6-day trip to NY on Thu.

TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will embark on a 6-day visit to American city of New York to attend a High-Level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace on 24 and 25 April 2018.

According to IRIB, Mohammad Javad Zarif will be accompanied by his deputies on the trip and will deliver a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in New York.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), founded in 1921, is a United States nonprofit think tank specializing in US foreign policy and international affairs.

Zarif is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts as well as a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Iranian foreign minister’s meetings and speeches will focus on regional issues (Syria and Yemen) and the nuclear deal between world powers and Iran known as the JCPOA.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi will be one the members of the Iranian delegation who will accompany Zarif.
