The first death anniversary of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani was held on Tuesday morning, in the attendence of a number of political figures including Iran's 1st VP Es'hagh Jahangiri, Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh, the Parliamentary Leader of Reformist’s Hope Fraction in the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Reza Aref, Intelligence Minister Sayed Mahmoud Alavi, Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency Head Ali Akbar Salehi, and a group of other officials, as well as his family, to commemorate Ayatollah and political legacy.
At the ceremony, Iran’s first Vice President Es'hagh Jahangiri said Hashemi Rafsanjani believed in Realism, while he never forgot about Idealism and realizing Iranian people’s causes.
Iran's 1st VP said that at the time of Rafsanjani’s presidency, Iran had the best relations with Arab countries.
Jahangiri described Rafsanjani as loyal adviser to Leader and Imam Khomeini, and one of the greatest political figures in Iran’s political history, adding that he was a man of action and helped Iran pass difficult times.
At the end of his remarks, the first vice president offered his condolences over the first anniversary of Ayatollah's death to his family.
