‘Iran’s status as top regional power cementing day-by-day’

TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) –The top aide to Iran’s Leader says that the position of Iran as the number one power of the region is getting more and more solidified day by day.

“What has made Iran survive is its rich cultural heritage of millennial age which keeps its continuity and perseverance in place despite political breaks,” said Ali akbar Velayati, the Iranian Leader’s Aide on International Affairs, on Saturday.

He made the remarks at a forum titled ‘Iran’s role and status in the region and the world: an analysis’.

“Whenever Iran has been looted and conquered by an expansionist power, it has managed to restore its identity and tie itself with its cultural and historic background to let this valuable name, Iran and Iranian identity, keep living till today,” he noted.

“The Iranian nation, considering the huge cultural resources and treasures which unite the elements of the Iranian nation and its deep root in history, according to historical documents, is the least vulnerable nation of the region,” reiterated Mr. Velayati.

“Contrary to many countries of the region, Iranian language, script, and culture has survived a long history in a unique way,” underlined the former foreign minister of Iran who held the post for 16 years during 4 administrations.

Saying that religious beliefs and the faith of the Iranians have acted as the spine to keeping the solidarity and unanimity of Iranians, Mr. Velayati said, “This cultural continuity has been the base of our national solidarity.”

The Iranian official boasted that the national solidarity among Iranians is unique between all Muslim countries in a vast region from the Strait of Gibraltar to the Strait of Malacca and from the North Western Africa to South Eastern Asia.

“At the current international mayhem that strategies last just for a couple of weeks, Iran is standing powerfully and envied by rivals and regional and international enemies,” articulated the veteran diplomat.
