Venezuela prepares military protection for centers subject to attacks

CARACAS, Nov. 11 (MNA) – The Strategic Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb) is training its members for the protection to facilities of public services, which are targets of sabotage.

According to Ceofanb commander Remigio Ceballos, the command began a phase of assessment and coordination to protect the public services system, particularly electricity and water.
He said that the strategy seeks to increase actions in the whole country to ensure security in all these sites, which are targeted by terrorist actions perpetrated by individuals that attack the welfare of the Venezuelan people.
He reiterated that President Nicolas Maduro ordered Ceofanb to work together with the members of the Integral Defense Operations Areas and other police forces to activate a plan to protect those facilities.
Ceballos said that measures and actions will be announced next week against people who perpetrate these crimes.
According to the news agency Agencia Venezolana de Noticias (AVN), in recent days electric pylons have been pulled down and sites of the National Electric System attacked, as well as drinking water pumping stations, mainly in the states of Aragua and Carabobo.
On the other hand, Ceballos said that Ceofanb members are also trained for protecting the municipal elections of December 10th.
"We are strengthening the whole training process of each member of the Armed Forces that will participate and guarantee these elections for all Venezuelans who participate and exercise their right to vote",  said Ceballos.
