Pakistan eyes closer ties with Iran despite enemy's plots

TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – Visiting Pakistani army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa stressed his country’s resolve to strengthen relations with Iran despite the enemy’s divisive plots.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who arrived in Iran as the head of a high-ranking military delegation met with the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Ali Jafari, on Tuesday.

Asserting that the US and the Israeli regime have been foes to the nations and the states in the region, Jafari added “we were informed that measures are being taken in order to increase and spread insecurity in Pakistan. Preventive actions with support from the people and the armed forces can help calm the situation.”

“With 40 years of experience in fighting enemies, the Islamic republic of Iran is ready to help the popular resistance movements in Pakistan,” he continued.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General, for his part, underlined the fact that enemy intends to create division between Iran and Pakistan and said “despite all the conspiracies and the divisive measures of the enemy, Pakistan and Iran intend to strengthen ties and increase cooperation.”

Noting that the measures of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in helping regional states has increased respect for it, Qamar Javed Bajwa said “despite all the threats, Iran enjoys a good situation today. Pakistan has endured years of strict sanctions too; despite all that however, the two nations have done well so far.”

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General expressed his gratitude to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps for sharing with Pakistan the experience of Iran-Iraq war and the national mobilization against the enemy, asserting “we believe that the most important reason for Iran’s victory over their enemies is the national support it receives and I hope this trip can initiate the transfer of experience for using popular forces in Pakistan.”
