Sharif, Tsinghua univs. call for stronger relations

TEHRAN, Jul. 18 (MNA) – A delegation from China’s Tsinghua University, while visiting Sharif University of Technology, stressed development of academic and cultural ties between the two sides.

The visiting Chinese delegation, comprising President of Tsinghua University Qiu Yong and higher education students, were eager to bolster cooperation with Iran in humanities and engineering arenas.

The delegation visited the Institute for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Sharif University of Technology and they held meeting with university professors and officials. The two sides offered reports on activities conducted by their universities.

Both parties also touch upon the issue of brain draining as a common problem faced by Iran and China and offered their suggested solutions. They expressed hope that the join session would lead to development of constructive relations between the two universities in the near future.

Tsinghua University is a research university located in Beijing, China. Tsinghua is consistently ranked as one of the top academic institutions in China and Asia.

In 2015, Tsinghua University topped MIT and became the best (premier) engineering school in the world, according to the US News.
