Iran weightlifters stand 1st at IWF Junior World Championships

TEHRAN, Jun. 23 (MNA) – Iran's Junior Weightlifting Team, despite being ranked sixth in the medal ranking, won the World Championship title for the second consecutive year.

2017 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships wrapped up today in Japan and Iranian Weightlifting Team grabbing 423 points won the tiltle of championship.

Reza Biralvand, Ali Davoudi and Rahman Ourameh featured outstanding performances at the 2017 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships in Japan, and been awarded 6 medals, including two precious gold ones.

The 2017 IWF Junior World Championships began in Tokyo, Japan, on June 15 and will finish on June 23.

The tournament has brought together a total of 265 male and female athletes from 50 countries.
