Iran’s ‘A157’ goes to Movies that Matter

TEHRAN, Mar. 13 (MNA) – Iranian director Behrouz Nuranipour’s war documentary 'A157' will be displayed at Movies that Matter Film Festival in the Netherlands.

The shocking documentary which also won the Special Jury Award at Iran’s Cinéma Véritére and best feature-length documentary award at the 16th Watch Docs relates the horrors of war and terrorism in Syria, especially on women and children.

A157 is the story of the ethical collapse occurring throughout the war. It focuses on the lives of three Syrian Kurd girls who had lost their fathers a day before ISIL attacked their city and are now living in a refugee camp, not knowing what has happened to their mothers.

The documentary was first named best documentary at the 34th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran in February.

Founded in March 2006, Movies that Matter followed in the footsteps of the Amnesty International Film Festival. It continued and enhanced the festival’s activities, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
