Iranian president made the remarks during his meeting with Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday evening where he noted Iran-Kuwait brotherly and long-lasting ties; “multiple opportunities exist ii different fields of which Iran and Kuwait could benefit from providing interests of both nations as well as region.”
Rouhani, welcoming the establishment of Ian-Kuwait economic commission also emphasized the economic ties particularly in private sectors.
“Tehran and Kuwait City have close political ties; economic ties also should be developed to such a level,” Rouhani asserted, and continued “yet, the ties are not limited to economic arena; culture, sciences and technology are other fields of cooperation for Iran and Kuwait.”
Iranian president further underlined transit, north-south corridor, banking and joint projects as ample opportunities for cooperation.
Noting terrorism and the developments in Middle East, Rouhani reaffirmed the inclusiveness of the threat it imposes on the world and deemed collective collaboration as the sole way to confront it; “as religious brothers we all should stand together and fight dividing thoughts,” and reiterated dialogue and understanding as the sole solution for tensions in the region.
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for his part, hailed President Rouhani’s uniting stances and underlined Kuwait’s will to expand ties with Iran as “the condition in the region demands all of us to hold good ties with neighbors.”
Emir of Kuwait also expressed his nation’s gratitude toward Iran for its support back in war with Saddam Hussain.
He further put emphasis on unity and cooperation between countries in the region; “we are all Muslims and should stand together brotherly and walk in path of peace, stability and development.”
