Head of Parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi, made the remarks in a meeting with representatives of various Palestinian groups in Lebanon at Friday night, where the two sides conferred on issues related to the Middle East, particularly Palestine.
“Since the Islamic Revolution until now, Iran’s positions have always been in support of the Palestinian cause and this goal will only be realized through unity among all Muslims,” Boroujerdi said.
He went on to add, “the enemies of Islam are planning to create discord and conflict in regional states and have gathered all efforts and resources to deviate the attention of other nations from the Palestinian cause.”
The Iranian senior MP strongly censured certain Islamic governments for inviting Israeli businessmen to their countries, adding “it is of much regret that certain governments in the region invite Zionist delegations to their countries and celebrate with them.”
Four representatives of the Palestinian groups present in the meeting lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to the nation and resistance front of Palestine, stressing continued fight and resistance against the Israeli regime until the complete liberation of Palestine.
The Iranian delegation headed by Boroujerdi arrived in Lebanon on Thursday afternoon after a two-day visit to the Syrian capital Damascus. Boroujerdi also held talks with Lebanon’s newly-elected president Michel Aoun, where the two sides discussed region’s most important issues, particularly in regard to Syria and Lebanon.
