Attended by six teams from host Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Iran, Azerbaijan Republic and Uzbekistan, the U23 division of the tournament is being held in the form of team competitions.
In the freestyle section, the Iranian squad has been drawn up in Group B together with Azerbaijan Republic and Uzbekistan while Group A comprises Russian, Turkish and Belarusian teams.
On Saturday morning, Iran’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers both pulled out 4-2 victories over Uzbek rivals.
Young Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers are slated to take on Russian rivals while Persian freestylers will face Azerbaijan Republic on Saturday afternoon.
The international event entitled Alrosa Cup International Tournament will be held in Seniors and U23 divisions in the Russian capital of Moscow on 09-14 November, 2016.
