‘Velayat Defenders’ military drill dominates skies

TEHRAN, Oct. 16 (MNA) – The spokesperson of an Army Air Force military drill has said it focused on high precision of aerial bombs and high-altitude flights.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Masoud Rouzkhosh told reporters on Monday that ‘Velayat Defenders-6’ air drill had brought together a constellation of the Force’s repertoire of fighters including Sukhoi Su-24, F4, F5, MIG26, F14, and Saeqe fighters along with Boeing 707 and 747 fueling planes, diverse classes of drones, and gigantic C130.

“Drill includes air operation of fueling fighters, achieving precision in pinpointing of bombs and rockets in air-to-surface and air-to-air targeting, surveillance and data collection through aerial images communicated by UAVs, air patrolling of tracker fighters, and targeting and destroying of enemy’s aerial positions,” he detailed.

“Firing smart heavy and light bombs using LASER-guided, thermal, radar-detected missiles is also part of the drill, which shows the sheer diversity and technology enjoyed by the indigenous weapons industry,” Rouzkhosh concluded.
